Situated in Bonar Bridge, in 130yr old Caledonian Pine Wood, Arda shows an ancient and almost extinct landscape that reveals how Scotland would have looked 400 years ago. It is abundant with wildlife, and perfect for watching moonrises, Northern Lights and stars.
This is the ideal setting for you to disconnect from technology, and reconnect with yourself, each other and nature.

Our accommodation is set naturally among the trees offering privacy and seclusion uncommon on glamp sites, and for that reason we don't consider ourselves a "park".
We offer a natural, hand built, utterly unique, authentic experience of being off grid in Europe's last Wilderness.
We don't have "pods" we offer "base camps" for you to set yourself up in and explore the never ending diversity of  the most beautiful country in the world.
We skillfully craft each base from discarded materials that would otherwise go to landfill. We are a small family supported in this project by our friends and an international community of volunteers dedicated to the growth of ecotourism.

Our dedication to quality didn't end with the build, and we enjoy giving a continuity of bespoke service by offering to help with cook out recipes and itineraries for you to make the most of base camp and your most memorable adventure this year.

How we did it......

Watch as Arnor takes shape from field stones, to home milled timbers, reclaimed pallets, vintage windows, and finally the 1000+ "Gingerbread house" shingles  handmade from all the old wood lying on the croft that has been reclaimed from the redundant housing of many treasured animals over the years.
We have reused old wind blown timber that came down in a hurricane in 2005 for the main building, worktop, toilet top, and door frame.
Over 40 friends and family from all over the globe, from as young as 6 years old built this little cabin for you to call home this summer.

Arda is based in the Kyle of Sutherland which is the centre of the Northern Highlands and gateway to the East and West Coasts through Assynt and Dornoch. It is ideal for exploring the NC500, Loch Ness, and Glen Affric, as a series of day trips or as a stop over on the way from Orkney to Skye.
Touring with Arda as your base allows you to really explore without being tied to check ins and meal times, meaning you make the most of the midnight sun.

We run a large group of over 16,000 members on Facebook where locals and others who have toured the area can offer hints and advice to help you plan a memorable trip. We are always happy to make bespoke itineraries using our local knowledge.
